So, basically you're pursuing truth, health, and wealth in that order. And I think that's actually the right priority order. So, learn truth—determine what is true. Pursue health because without that, you have really nothing else. And then wealth is important, but it's third. And it's important to have that third. You never want to do something that's untrue to make money or to sacrifice your long-term health for wealth. I mean, whatever, losing sleep one day, okay, it may not be the end of world. For a year, it's going to affect your long-term health.

It's actually kind of interesting how little collaborative work is done on the Internet. I mean, we have Wikipedia—that's one of the great ones. There's obviously GitHub... There's Google Docs. You might say, 'Well that is a lot of collaborative work,' and I agree, but I think there's so much more that can be done. Why aren't there more things like Google Docs where you can collaborate in real time and see the thing coming together? You can see people fighting in quasi real time on Twitter, but you can't necessarily see them building things together, and that's partially because the division of labor is challenging, rewards are challenging, approval of digital work is challenging...

One of the things I've been thinking a lot about with the recent COVID-19 stuff is that our dashboards for society are wrong. Rather than the stock market being the expression of our country's economic health, it should be something like a histogram showing the net worth of all Americans.

Monetarily, I'd say, buy Bitcoin, and if you're more adventurous, also by ETH—like 50% BTC and 50% ETH. Put into it what you can afford to just never think about. Literally, if it goes to zero for years, drops 80%, you don't even care; you're not looking at the price ... So, do that, number one, because that alone, I think, is the dumbest and most obvious thing to do to prepare yourself for 5 or 10 years or more of significant financial and monetary disruption, number one.

We're juicing ourselves with sugar, with caffeine, and with whatever the 'dopaminey' stimulus is of social media ... We're dosing ourselves to the absolute maximum. This is a sugar, caffeine, and social media society.

This [COVID-19] could be as much as an accelerant for biomedicine as the internet was for software.

People have been so freaking angry at each other during the 2010s in a relatively booming market ... And when there's, like, actual genuine scarcity, if that does happen, if physical goods are hard to come by and inflation destroyed your currency and so on, and you have a country where people are heavily armed, and they're yelling at each other on social media... You've got a very potent cocktail for bad things.

The Internet means more variance—more upside and more downside, more highs and more lows. And so, on almost any issue, we can identify a downward deviation. We can identify QAnon, but we can also identify often an upward deviation; we can identify 'SatoshiAnon.'

First, skills-wise, I'd get really good at computer science and statistics... The reason is that every domain has algorithms and data structures which means that computer science and stats are valuable anywhere.

They're going to be forced, probably, to bring interest rates all the way to the floor, maybe before the 2024 election, and I think you will see very serious inflation as a function of that.

This [COVID-19] is going to be a gigantic shot in the arm for every diagnostic and medical imaging company. All of those are about to get defense budget-level spending. Think of this as a world war in its scope, but it's a world war against a virus.

It's unlikely that there's going to be a technical attack on Bitcoin. The only thing that's going to happen going forward is potentially a regulatory or software attack. But outside of that, its community is so strong that it can probably repair on that.

You can't really say 'End the Fed' or 'End the FDA' ... I don't think it's practical. What you can't do, however, and this is very important, is you can exit the Fed, exit the FDA.

The US economy, we have run out of juice. The Federal Reserve being able to print money and so on, it just keeps going down on this trend, like interest rates. And if you notice every time they try to jack it up, it has to be pushed back down and kept down for longer and longer and longer.

The most challenging thing to do as an entrepreneur—but it's also absolutely necessary—is to hire people who are better than you.

You have to rank order what you're paying attention to, and the infotainment stuff should be filtered out of the feed. One way of thinking about this is the analogy between your diet and your information diet ... Having a cookie from time to time might be fine, but if you're only eating cookies, and you're not eating healthy food, you're going to have negative metabolic consequences, your health is going to be messed up, your life is going to be worse, and so on. In the same way, I'm not saying never have fun or never watch something interesting, but I do feel that Twitter and a lot of social media are like a restaurant that's learned to put sugar in their food.

Many non-white people will shift to Bitcoin orange ... Inflation is absolutely crushing people of color.

The food pyramid is just totally upside down. It tells you to eat all these carbohydrates and grains when actually, that should be the thing you avoid to the maximum extent because we're showing it causes inflammation [and] causes type 2 diabetes.

People are running on scripts that they don't even realize they're running on because media scripts humans, just as code scripts machines.

Why can you not take your phone, scan a barcode of a drug at the store, and see every single review that anybody's ever had of that drug—ideally linked to their personal genomics and ideally linked to yours?
