Cities spend hundreds of millions of dollars a year on settlements for police brutality cases—New York City alone spends $300 million a year ... Chicago: $47 million. Nationwide, you're looking at about $1 billion or more annually.

Let me say on the record, I hope that Joe [Biden] does not run again. I think he may choose to run again, because he feels he's the only one that can defeat Trump. If Trump becomes the Republican nominee, I think the odds of Joe running again go up ... I just don't think it's good for the country for us to have an 82-year-old president being sworn in.

I think we are past the point where masks in schools make sense ... If you're a teacher and want to be protected from transmission, it's more important that you're wearing a mask than the kids are wearing masks. It does have a negative impact on kids' ability to learn and their social development. So, I think we should move beyond masks in schools.

The single biggest thing that America has right now going against it is that we have four or five companies—Facebook, Apple Amazon, Microsoft, Google—that suck up the enormity and the overwhelming majority of all talented, technical human capital ... If you are a smart young kid... how do you turn around to your family and say 'I'm going to go and work at the startup for 80 grand a year, or this nonprofit, or something else versus going and getting paid a million dollars a year at one of these big companies'? It's really impossible.

We're measuring our economy all wrong. We should be measuring it by human well-being, mental health, freedom from substance abuse, childhood success rates, environmental sustainability, and things that would actually speak to how we're doing as a society. The stock market and how families are doing have essentially no relationship anymore.

A whole bunch of services have also cropped up that allow you to find the best grade 5 math teacher, the best grade 6 algebra teacher, the best grade 7 history teacher ... I think, in the 21st century, especially in America, it stands to reason that we should be able to give these incredible teachers— We should pay them like athletes ... These guys should be making 30, 40, 50 million bucks a year, and they should be teaching all American grade 5, grade 6, grade 7 materials. And when you're in school, you should be consuming this video content with incredible local teachers that help supplement and reinforce what these best-in-class folks teach us.

There's this sense in the tech world... that technology is completely amoral. It's a tool, you make it, and how it's used [isn't] up to us. Well, I don't think that's right ... I do think it's the responsibility of people developing this technology to consider the possible negative uses for it.

I don't like the people who are telling us to just go and wait to vote in November—that doesn't do us any good. At the rate they're killing black folk, that's going to be about another 5, 6, 7 bodies between now and November.

There has always been some split between how Democrats and Republicans have perceived the economy, but that split has grown into a gulf—the biggest gulf ever recorded. Right now, Democrats who are asked about the economy say it's going great, and then Republicans are like, 'Oh, it's terrible.' There's a 49-point gap in this scale.

Don't watch the news all day every day. I don't think our brains are designed to really take that much stimulus over and over and over. This is how I feel about Twitter ... I bet you if you look at your replies, even if they're positive, it's really overwhelming. I don't think we're supposed to get that much information, that much communication, that much feedback from that many people in such a short period of time.

I'm in the camp that the insurrection was very, very serious and lives were lost and people should be held accountable. I am also of the opinion that this set of hearings has become kind of this political theater that is not necessarily going to result in referrals to the Department of Justice or legal proceedings against various folks.

What's going to happen with artificial intelligence this time around is that pretty much everything is going to be impacted because AI is really a general purpose technology. I think it's going to be, ultimately, almost like electricity. So, it's going to invade everything. Doesn't matter what sector it is—manufacturing, agriculture, services, white collar jobs, government jobs. It's coming for literally everything.

The major variable is whether Joe [Biden] decides to run for president again and whether there is a Democratic primary. Kamala certainly does not clear the field. So, the things I'm hearing from people are that that Joe apparently wants to run again.

Andrew Yang thinks that there are some very, very, very ominous dark clouds and weaknesses coming on a scale that we have not seen in quite some time. And so please do act accordingly. If you have assets out there that you feel like, frankly, are kind of at risk or things that you might need over some period of weeks or months, I personally would say you might want to like bring those assets in.

I think strong organizations can do without the founder ... I think that, actually, is the highest mark of entrepreneurship is that you can build something, and then step away, and then it thrives without you.

If I had won The White House, I was going to go to war with Zuckerberg, truly. Because what's good for Facebook... is not good for America; it's not good for humanity; it's not good for sanity.

I'm very, very reluctant to categorize just about anyone as genuinely evil, because in my experience, there are very, very few evil people ... Vladimir Putin, now that's evil.

There's this sense that the gates are wide open [and] that anybody can come to America; nothing could be further from the truth. As a kid in Pakistan with my family, just trying to get a visit visa to America... It's almost impossible. It's so hard just to get a visit visa, especially from a place like Pakistan.

As trite as this sounds, we all truly have a lot more in common than we don't.

I think that we all are trying our best ... When we forget that, we just act like raging dipshits, but we are all honestly trying our best, everyday. If you keep it in mind, it's amazing how much empathy you can have for other people.
