Your 20s are really a great time to... figure out what it is you love to do. Your 30s is to figure out what that thing is and get really good at it—almost perfect it. And your 40s and 50s are for cashing in.

When I went to college, my mom gave me some amazing advice. She said, 'You don't know what you want to do yet. You're going to college. You have this amazing opportunity.' And she told me to do everything. She said, 'If there's a speaker at the college, go listen to the speaker. Sign up for every intramural sport. Go to every event, every happening.'

Great entrepreneurs, great business leaders, deal with the lows really well ... Great entrepreneurs handle the lows really well because they have such a passion. Their passion to get to that end goal is so much bigger than the obstacles. The obstacles are almost obsolete.

They say you find your true purpose when these three things collide: when you figure out what it is you're good at, what you love to do, and providing a product or service that helps people.

If we do not make it clear that Black Lives Matter is about peaceful protest and moving African American initiatives forward, and that looting stuff, the anarchist, and those things are separate... If we do not separate them in the media, we will actually ensure that our current president will remain president because it's actually going to hurt us and our initiatives. We need to make sure that Black Lives Matter is not connected with those terrible things that are criminal behavior that none of us support and we all support Black Lives Matter.

You have so much more—all of us—in our reserve tank. We just don't want to tap into it because it's uncomfortable. But once you go beyond what you think you can do, it's addicting.

In today's world, everybody thinks instant everything, instant likes, more followers, more this... Like it just happens. And it does for some people—they get lucky, and they have... rapid growth. But for 99.9% of us, we go through this trial and error period, and that was no different for me.

Being an entrepreneur is a very lonely job. I went through a lot of sleepless nights. I mean, in the last three years, building United Masters—no sleep, nervous, you don't want to fail, you got to make payroll, you got people relying on you. And there's very few people that can wake up and function knowing those things are constantly on their mind.

The limitations we put on ourselves are self-imposed.

Black Americans and police have a problem that systemic. They don't treat black men, at all, with the same precaution that they go through with white people. They shoot first and ask questions later.

How you do anything is how you do everything.

The more you experience, the more you have to offer.
